Deer Hunts

The Pass It On - Outdoor mentors program has had the priviledge of hunting deer on the Z Bar Ranch since the program began in 2002. Comprised of over 42,000 acres in the scenic Gyp Hills of south central Kansas, hunting on the Z Bar Ranch is one of the highlights of the year for those involved with the Pass It On program.

We have never had a shortage of opportunities for matches wanting to participate in fall deer hunts. KDWP hosts a deer hunt near Harper and has reserved spots just for BBBS matches. Western Resources hosts a youth deer hunt on their Wolf Creek property, again reserving spots just for BBBS matches. KDWP has opened wildlife refuges soley to BBBS matches, giving them opportunities to hunt deer that no other hunters have access to.

And when the demand is greater than what these hunts can accomodate, outfitters and landowners have generously opened their properties to BBBS matches.

Giving kids a chance to enjoy the great outdoors is something all outdoorsmen and women embrace.
