BFADs with Wichita Audubon Society

The Pass It On program has teamed with the Wichita Audubon Society on two events, matching Audubon Society members with Littles waiting to be matched. On one trip, the group traveled to the Chaplin Nature Center where they enjoyed a hike around the property checking out the birds and other wildlife that were out that morning. On the second trip, they traveled to the Quivira Wildlife Refuge while the fall migration was in full swing, getting to see hundreds of thousands of ducks and geese and sandhill cranes that were using the refuge that evening.

Shawn Silliman from the Chaplin Nature Center gives a briefing on how to use binoculars to the Littles prior to heading down the hiking trails.	In addition to checking out the birds, Audubon members pointed out wildlife in the streams that run through the Chaplin Nature Center as well	Audubon Society members pointed out a wide variety of birds to the Littles as they traveled down the scenic natures trails.
It was a great morning for a walk down the trails at the Chaplin Nature Center.	Everyone got a hand in on building the bird houses!	Thanks to the helping hands from the Audubon Society members, each Little went home with a bird house ready for occupancy!
