| '08 Youth Turkey Hunt with Bell Wildlife Specialties April
4-6, Harveyville, KS. We took 5 nice toms, all with 9-10" beards, and everyone saw lots of birds, even if they didn't get the opportunity to shoot. But that's all part of the hunting experience!
Sam Haag from the Trails-n-Traditions TV show joined us again this year and got some great footage of some of the kids getting their turkey. The show will air later this fall. Sam's show is on the Sportsmans Channel and local cable in Pennsylvania. In addition to joining us for the hunt, Sam and his crew brought a PA Bear roast with them. On Saturday evening, Dan prepared a great meal for the crew featuring bear roast, buffalo roast and fried wild turkey. You knew it was good by looking at the serving table and seeing nothing left on the serving platters! This hunt has become a tradition with the Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors program, thanks to the generosity of Dan Bell, his family, and the great staff at Bell Wildlife Specialties.
