| Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors on TV! The Pass It On -- Outdoor Mentors program has been featured on a number of outdoor TV shows. Pheasants Forever TV and STEP OUTSIDE TV have both agreed to let us show the video clip from their respective shows here on the Pass It On -- Outdoor Mentors website. We hope you enjoy them! Urban American Outdoors has accompanied Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors on a number of deer hunts over the past few years. This video features footage of several of our kids harvesting their first deer. Thanks to Wayne Hubbard and all of the great folks at Urban American Outdoors! Spring '07 Youth Turkey Hunt at Bell Wildlife Specialties, with Trails-n-Traditions TV Show. For the 5th year in a row, Dan Bell and the great folks at Bell Wildlife Specialties hosted the Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors program and 16 youth hunters for the special youth-only turkey hunt season. In Kansas, the weekend before the regular spring season opens, kids 16 and younger get an opportunity to get out before everyone else. Sam Haag from Trails-n-Traditions TV show came along and filmed the hunt. The conditions were brutal this year with temperatures dipping down to 18 degrees each morning and the Kansas wind was howling. But that didn't deter these youngsters! There is some bonus footage with this video that you must see! The first year that Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors hunted with Bell Wildlife Specialties, we were accompanied by Diamond Adventures, who filmed the hunt. Two of the Little Brothers had a hunting experience they'll never forget as two gobbles came in to the decoys, attacked the jake decoy and actually ran off with it! They have included some of that footage in this show. STEP OUTSIDE TV Turkey Hunt from Spring '07. Dawn DeArmond, President/CEO of Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, and her Little Brother Dominique, went on a spring turkey hunt. Richard Waite guided the hunters in the morning, and Dominique got his first bird. You'll enjoy the afternoon hunt as some big birds came in for Dawn. A big thanks goes out to Richard Waite and Jeff Davis who stepped in and provided us with a place to hunt when our first option went away! Pheasants Forever TV Clip #1. In this video, we show highlights from a morning hunt in Sedgwick County and an afternoon hunt in Reno County. The morning hunt took place on property owned by Western Resources and was coordinated by members of the local Pheasants Forever chapter and the Western Resources Green Team. The afternoon hunt was organized with help from the local Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks biologists and the local Pheasants Forever chapter. Pheasants Forever TV Clip #2. In this video, we show highlights from a hunt with BBBS of South Dakota and Pheasants Forever. The hunt was hosted by Oak Tree Lodge in Clark, SD. The local PF Chapter has been hosting a youth hunt for several years with Oak Tree Lodge and this one was a great event for all involved. STEP OUTSIDE TV Clip. In this video, Big Sister Tara and her Little Sister Ali participate in a spring turkey hunt near Hillsboro, KS. Special thanks go out to Loren Hiebert of Cottonwood River Outfitters who graciously hosted 2 matches, guides and the film crew for a great hunt and to the Chisholm Trail Chapter of Safari Club International who assisted in making all of the arrangements for the hunt and guided for both matches. For both matches that participated in this hunt, it was the first turkey hunt for the Bigs as well as the Littles. The Pass It On program has been featured on several outdoors shows over the last few years. Urban American Outdoors came to Kansas and went deer hunting with several of our matches in December of '04. The show that Wayne Hubbard produced from this hunt was submitted for Emmy consideration! This episode ran in early '05. Here is a link to a story about the hunt on the Urban American Outdoors website. STEP OUTSIDE TV (an original Outdoor Channel production and a partnership production of The Outdoor Channel and National Shooting Sports Foundation) came to Kansas in May of '05 and spent time turkey hunting with 2 matches. It was the first turkey hunt for both the Bigs and the Littles. This show ran in the fall of '05 on The Outdoor Channel. Pheasants Forever TV came to Kansas in December of '04 to hunt with several matches and waiting Littles. Everyone had a great time and the action was featured on the Outdoor Life Network. Pheasants Forever has copies of the program available. Pheasants Forever has given Pass It On -- Outdoor Mentors permission to show the video of the hunt here on our website. Ben and Roman are both matched to mentors who are taking them hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors with them. Dawn DeArmond, who was interviewed on the program is now the CEO of Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters and has been dove hunting, turkey hunting and striper fishing with her Little as part of the Pass It On program. Matches from the Pass It On program went turkey hunting with the folks from Duck Zone in May of '05. This show ran on the Sportsman Channel in the fall of '05. |
